Be a neighborhood hero!

Give financial assistance

Dollars stretch furthest. Every gift buys bulk food at food-bank prices, and 95 cents of every dollar goes straight to neighbors.

Whether it’s twenty dollars or a corporate sponsorship, it’s all critically important to keeping our neighbors from going hungry.

Donate food and essentials

We’re always in need of more food for our clients. And our biggest gaps are the everyday essentials SNAP can’t buy, like diapers, personal hygiene, and paper products.

Restaurants and grocers: your surplus food is more than welcome here!

Volunteering

Volunteers here will tell you the same thing: you might drag yourself in after a long day, but you float out. More than one of us has admitted it’s “almost selfish”: you genuinely get back more than you give. The crew talks and laughs the whole shift, everybody covers for everybody, and the whole point is making neighbors feel welcome. Greeted like a friend, never treated like a case number.

You don’t need special skills. You need what our motto asks of all of us: the conviction that we are all in this together, and a couple of hours to prove it.

The important stuff

  • Reliable. When you sign up for a shift, neighbors are counting on you to show.
  • Committed to dignity and compassion. We serve everyone the way we’d want our own family served.
  • Physical roles: some positions involve standing for a shift, lifting, and moving boxes.
  • Under 18? Younger volunteers are welcome and may need parental consent. Great for service hours.
  • No experience needed. Every shift starts with a walkthrough, and you’ll never be on your own.

Where hands are needed most

The whole Market runs on a crew of about twenty regulars, and the new Monday evening shift still needs hands. Event days need a crew of their own too.

Market volunteer shifts follow the open hours (Monday evenings and Wednesdays), plus a quieter option: Tuesday afternoons (around 1:00–3:00 PM) we restock the shelves, no shoppers, just the crew and the boxes.
